Weekly Photo Challenge: Carefree Beautiful Whole Live Butterfly

DSC08991

Finally a photo of a whole live butterfly. It has been windy and rainy for the last few days on and off, and I wonder if this has caused the ‘grazes’ on the butterflies wings. I have run outside with my camera a number of times only to find a very camera shy butterfly who flutters away surprisingly quickly. This one wasn’t afraid.

I notice the chips out of its wings, and hope it wasn’t our visiting cat who caused them.

Decided at the last minute to add this to the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge.  Sometimes what we believe is carefree, such as the colourful butterfly dancing amongst the flowers, is not so free from cares as we might imagine. This butterfly spent quite a lot of time perching in the highest branches of our trees. She came down from her safe position to lay her eggs.
